Serienmäßige Luftfilter bzw. Luftfiltergehäuse sind immer ein Kompromiss. Der Hersteller muss auf Randbedingungen wie Geräuschentwicklung, Bauraum, Zugänglichkeit und vor allem Kosten Rücksicht nehmen. Gerade durch eine Leistungssteigerung, die immer mit einem erhöhten Luftdurchsatz einhergeht, stößt die originale Kompromisslösung schnell an Ihre Grenzen. Die CDA sorgt dafür, das vor dem Turbolader kein nennenswerter Unterdruck entstehen kann, welcher der Leistung, Drehmoment und günstigen Verbauchswerten entgegenwirkt. Dies wird durch stömungsgünstige Formen und großzügig dimensionierte Flächen erreicht. Durch die Auswahl hochwertiger Materialien und Ihren einfach Aufbau ist die CDA zudem extrem leicht und wiegt mit Einbaumaterial nur ca. 1Kg. Neben Ihren technischen Eigenschaften überzeugt die CDA ebenfalls mit einem dezent sportlichen Motorklang.

Performance
BMC Luftfilter wurden, im Vergleich zu einem Papierluftfilter, für einen höheren Luftdurchsatz entwickelt und werden seither erfolgreich unter anderem in der Formel 1 eingesetzt. Das BMC Filtergewebe minimiert die Druckverluste des Luftstroms. Auf diese Weise gewährleisten die BMC Luftfilter die besten Voraussetzungen für maximale Motorleistung. Daher sind die BMC Luftfilter besonders bei leistungsgesteigerten Motoren sinnvoll. Der Luftfilter stellt den ersten Widerstand in der Luftversorgungsstrecke des Motors dar. Daher sollte genau hier die Optimierung beginnen. Zudem sind alle BMC Luftfilter deutlich haltbarer als Papierluftfilter. Bei deutlich gesteigerten Luftmassenströmen kommt es bei Papierluftfiltern vor, dass diese aufreißen und zu einem Turbolader- oder Motorschaden führen können. Mit einem BMC Luftfilter besteht dieses Problem nicht. BMC Luftfilter sind für höchste Belastungen und Luftmassenströme ausgelegt.
Gegen die Verwendung des Luftfiltersystems in Verbindung mit einem Austauschschalldämpfer/ -anlage mit besonderer Betriebserlaubnis bestehen keine Bedenken.

Entwicklung & Design
BMC Luftfilter werden mit modernster Software berechnet und mit Hilfe von jahrelanger Erfahrung und neuesten Technologien produziert. Ein Formel1- Luftfilter muss vielen Ansprüchen zugleich gerecht werden. Er muss sehr leicht, robust und effektiv sein. Er muss z.B. gegenüber Oxidation durch Luftfeuchtigkeit oder gegenüber Benzindämpfen resistent sein. Hierzu muss dieser Luftfilter aus den besten verfügbaren Werkstoffen hergestellt werden. Das Filtermaterial besteht aus einem speziellen Baumwollgewebe, welches mit dünnflüssigem Spezial-Öl getränkt wurde. Damit ist die höchste Luftdurchlässigkeit bei gleichzeitig höchster Filterwirkung gewährleistet.
Technologie
BMC hat ein besonderes Herstellungsverfahren entwickelt, welches auf weichen Gummi-Formen basiert. Hieraus entstehen die bekannten roten BMC Filter. Diese Filter werden ohne Schweißnähte aus einem einzigen Stück gefertigt, wodurch die Risiken eines Materialversagens minimiert sind. Dieses Verfahren, stammt aus der Formel 1 und es ist eines der Herausstellungsmerkmale, die für die technischen und qualitativen Eigenschaften der BMC Luftfilter sprechen.

Stock air filters are always a compromise. The OEM has to boundary conditions such as noise, space, accessibility and above all take costs into account. It is through an increase in power output, which is always accompanied by an increased air flow, the stock compromise solution quickly reachs their limits. The CDA effects, that their will be no significant negative pressure before the turbocharger, that would decrease the power, torque and low fuel consumption. This is achieved by aerodynamic shapes and generously bigger sized filter surfaces. By using high quality materials the CDA is also extremely light. It weights only about 1Kg incl. mounting material. In addition to their technical characteristics, the CDA also convinces with a sporty engine note.

Performance
BMC air filters are designed and produced to ensure a higher air flow than stock paper filters. In Formula1, for example, BMC cotton filters minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for full exploitation of maximum power. Therefore the benefits of replacing the stock paper filter with BMC cotton air filter, produced using the same technology and materials as the F1 air filters, are evident.

Design
Qualified engineers using advanced software and a large amount of experience expert develop and design the BMC Aitfilters. After the development technicians using the latest technologies produce BMC air filters. An F1 filter must be very light, must be made of the best raw materials and must improve the engine performance. For this reason we use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with a special low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability.

Technology
BMC technical staff has developed a particular production system based on soft rubber moulding which produces the familiar red BMC filters. They are made in one single piece with no welded joints in the corners, thus avoiding breaking risks. This system, called "Full Moulding" comes from the F1 and it is significant of BMC air filters' technical and quality specifics.
